Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Diesel Technician/B Technician to join our team in Brandywine, MD. We believe our people are the heart of our company and the foundation of our success. This is a full-time position. Hours are 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM Monday-Friday (weekends as necessary).

Base pay starts at $32 and goes up based on skills and experience.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Knowledge and ability to diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension,

electrical, hydraulic, body components and systems related to heavy duty diesel garbage

trucks. May include welding and fabrication.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs and maintenance on all equipment to maximize safe and productive operations.
• Reviews and completes repairs identified on DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) and/or repair orders.
• Complete all required paperwork in a timely and concise manner.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
• Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
• Communicate with managers issues with vehicles and discuss preventive techniques that minimize future repairs.
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:

Proven experience working as a diesel mechanic. Waste industry preferred but not required.

• Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair, transmissions, suspension systems, brakes, vehicle electrical systems, and hydraulics.
• Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools with the ability to interpret and make repairs from service manuals.
• Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering for custom repairs or modifications.
• Valid driver's license and good driving history required. CDL preferred.
• Must have own tools.
